Does solar power work like ordinary power?
- It sure does. We have a system with two large inverters, which convert the 12volt power from the solar panels into 240 volt, just like you have at home.
Can I plug things in?
- You can plug in your lap-top, your mobile or MP3 charger and any medical equipment you might need.
- You CANNOT plug in electric heaters under any circumstances, or any electric cooking equipment. Use of hair dryers must be restricted.
Do you supply breakfast?
- We supply great coffee (ground and instant), tea, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and other condiments. We do not supply breakfast or other perishables.
Is there a reception? Can I check in late?
- There’s no on-site management at Bunjaree, but we can arrange for you to check in any time after 2pm – even at midnight, if you’re so inclined. We'll tell you what to do when your booking is confirmed.
Is there a minimum night stay?
- Yes, two nights.
- Long weekends are a flat rate for 3 nights - the third night is discounted.
- Low season or non-school holiday midweeks - single nights may be available as standby (i.e no earlier than 24 hours before).
Can I stay two nights at Easter or Christmas and other public holiday weekends?
- Easter and Christmas are flat rate (see pricing page), fourth night is discounted. No further discounts for 2/3 night stays.
- Public holiday weekends are three night, third night is discounted. No further discount for 2 night stays.
How far is it…..?
- From Sydney – 90 mins – or less - from the CBD. More in peak times of course.
- To the train station – 15 -20 mins walk.
- To the village – same as above or 5 mins by car. (Good supermarket, coffee and cakes shops, book and antiques).
- To bush walks – there’s bush at your doorstep and local walks. The major walks – eg, those that start at the Conservation Hut – are a few minutes drive away.
- To Leura and Katoomba – 10mins drive to Leura, 15 mins to Katoomba.
- To the Zig-Zag railway it’s an hour’s drive.
- To Jenolan Caves. Jenolan is on the other side of the mountains, so it’s an hour and a half there.
How do I find Bunjaree?
- Easily. We send directions with booking confirmation.
Is Bunjaree accessible by train?
- Sure is. Ask us for details.
Do you supply linen?
- Yes, and it’s really good linen - and it includes towels.
Do you have TVs, DVDs and CD players?
- All cottages have a small to medium sized TVs AND a DVD player.
- All cottages have CD players.
- Banksia also has an old fashioned video player – and videos.
Do the cottages have ovens?
- All our cottages have good gas cooking stoves, with four burners, griller and an oven.
Barbeques?
- All our cottages have their very own barbeque.
How far apart are the cottages?
- Our four cottages are spread on about 10 acres (4 hectares) of our 20 acres of bush. Each cottage is secluded from every other but near enough to wander by for a cuppa if you are staying as a group.
If we want to stay as a group, can we meet in one cottage?
- Banksia Cottage sleeps up to 8 (max. 6 adults) and is often used as a meeting place for a larger group. Waratah also.
What ages are children?
- We consider young people up to, and including, 17 years to be children when they are staying with their parents.
- Young people in school, sport or other groups, who naturally have requirements for more separate accommodation than families, are only children until 13 years of age. After that the adult fee is chargeable (still makes for a cheap group stay).
